Q: How are parents kept informed about their child’s progress?

We take great care to communicate with parents on a daily basis at drop off and pick up times. Parent teacher conferences are scheduled twice per year. Parents are welcome to schedule a teacher meeting any time they want to speak about their child, or any issue in their child’s classroom.

Q: What ages do you accept?

We enroll children from the ages of 18 mos to 11 years (for our After School Program).

Q: Are children required to take naps?

Preschool age children will be provided with a cot and a blanket to rest from 12:30 to 2:30pm. Children who are unable to sleep are provided with a quiet activity on their cot. If your child has a favourite blanket and/or stuffed animal from home they would like to have with them at nap time, please feel free to send it. Please label it with your Childs name.

Q: How do you discipline the children?

Consistent positive discipline measures such as redirection, restatement of the rules, positive role modeling, positive reinforcement and problem solving are readily used. Corporal punishment and derogatory remarks are NEVER used.

Q: What should I send with my child to school?

Children 18mos to 2 years: Diapers and wipes if needed.

All children:

Close-toed shoes or boots.

A favorite toy and/or blanket for nap time.

A complete change of clothes

Appropriate swimming clothes and towel for water day (seasonal)

Q: How do I find out if the CVPCCC will be closed due to weather?

Watch KWWL or visit for weather related early dismissals and closures.
